Run, iterate, and scale your course content creation
Now that you’ve effectively built your social learning platform, it’s time to take things to the next level.
Achieving a comprehensive understanding of content strategy is essential for scaling your course content creation, keeping learners engaged, and expanding your reach.
Create additional course content creation
Why stop with just the content you’ve already produced?
Learners will benefit from additional content offerings, even if they’re optional. This way you’ll constantly have them coming back for more, even after they’ve completed any mandatory online courses. Or, if they’re paying for your courses already, they’ll appreciate the extra content offerings, meaning their brand loyalty will see a definite boost.
Consider creating supplemental content that dives deeper into specific topics or offers advanced insights. For instance, if your course covers basic digital marketing strategies, offer additional modules on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices, social media marketing, or digital content creation.
This not only enriches the learner experience but also positions you as a comprehensive resource in your field. Becoming a successful content creator requires mastering diverse skills, and offering specific courses on these aspects can help individuals succeed in content generation and monetization.
💡 Try exploring content creation courses that provide structured classes on essential skills like copywriting, social media marketing, and video editing. These courses offer flexibility and career advancement potential for individuals looking to enhance their digital content creation capabilities.
On the other hand, here are ways to do more content with a little amount of time:
Duplicating and customizing content
One of the most efficient ways to scale your course content creation is by duplicating existing content. Under your Learning tab, find the course that you want to duplicate, and click the three dots in the top right corner. Select Clone.
Here, you’ll decide whether you want to clone the curriculum, managers, instructors, or all three. Once you decide what you want to clone, you can rename the content and then even continue to work while Disco gets to work.
Once the cloning is complete, the new learning content will be visible and you’ll be able to go in and make edits directly. This can be useful if you want to keep the content mostly the same, but update specifics like pay grade info for an internal team, examples to accommodate regional differences, etc. Creating engaging content is crucial to captivate your audience and encourage high-quality interaction.
Reminder: When duplicating content, always review it to ensure that the examples, case studies, and references are still relevant and tailored to the new audience. This ensures that the cloned content doesn’t feel generic but rather is customized to meet the unique needs of each cohort.
Creating net-new content for online courses
Okay, now let’s talk about creating net-new content using Disco AI.
Here, you’ll want to create a new module, by clicking + Module in the top right-hand corner of the Curriculum section where all your course info will be. Add your title, description, and information about the prerequisites and release time for your material.
Within the new module, click the + in the top right corner. From there, you’ll have three choices: New Content, From Existing Content, and Generate. In this example, let’s use the Generate option. Add in your prompt and sit back and watch the magic happen.
Now, when we say magic, we really mean it. Disco AI generates an entire curriculum in just seconds, including a title, images, and content. You can also add a link for AI inspiration to ensure you’re getting the content you want.
Example: Suppose you’re creating a new course on "Advanced Data Analytics." By using Disco AI, you can quickly generate comprehensive modules that include the latest trends in data visualization, case studies on real-world applications, and interactive assignments that challenge learners to apply their knowledge. Here's how it looks like in real-time:

Cohort-based learning FAQs for engaging content
What is cohort-based learning?
Cohort-based learning is a better, more practical approach to online learning and continuing education for accelerators, bootcamps, virtual academies, and even internal training where L&D teams upskill their employees.
It’s focused on learning together as part of a team, or cohort, and offers a sense of community that results in higher engagement and better learning outcomes.
What’s the best cohort-based learning platform?
There are a lot of cohort-based learning platforms out there, but finding the right one doesn’t have to be difficult.
Look for a learning management system that offers you the flexibility to adjust your courses for different cohorts without a huge lift—things like easy course duplication and templates should be a given. Your learners will also appreciate a modern, easy-to-navigate design that feels fresh and fun (bonus points if you’re able to customize it with your own branding).
It’s also important to look for an LMS that has a social learning element. Cohort-based learning programs can actually see completion rates 187% higher than self-paced courses, meaning your learners are engaged and getting what they want out of their online education. Things like discussion groups, Slack-like communication channels, and live events are good signs that the platform puts a focus on social learning.
Finally, you want a learning platform that’s making the most of new technology like AI. Artificial intelligence can save you and your team hundreds of hours when it comes to creating course content and managing your systems; it’s no longer a nice-to-have, it’s a must (at least in our books).
Luckily, Disco offers all of the above features (and more). It’s an all-in-one AI-powered social learning platform that’s just as easy to build on as it is enjoyable for your learners.
